Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is preferred with some in the last 24 months.
• 12 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred.
If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel and have significant RN experience outside of ICU, please have CRT send to management team for approval.
Patient Types:
Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
Diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population
Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff.
Required Education:
Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Skills required:
Comfortability working a 48hr/week contract – this is not negotiable for this unit
Experience with the above-mentioned patients

ICU RN qualified to float to ED
PCU RN qualified to float to ICU
Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.
Impella, IABP and CRRT – strongly preferred
Charting System:
Epic – Required for ED & ICU
Alaris- (Will be switching to Baxter Pumps by October)
Omnicell
Floating: If yes, where
Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor – including Medsurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio. Confirm traveler comfortability during interview.
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every other-but not guaranteed

7 days maximum time off
2 references from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
