Summary

Performs a variety of tasks to assist in the preparation of patients for various diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities

Assists technologist with patient preparation and imaging. Initiates IV start and places IV in patient for injection of contrast material. Prepares and administers various solutions to be given orally to patients for use as contrast media during imaging procedures. Distributes and explains consent forms and brochures to patients for imaging procedures. Assists patients with proper positioning to obtain the best image utilizing standard positioning and lifting techniques. Responds to patients' requests for assistance and answers basic questions or arranges for staff to respond to more complex questions.
