ChristianaCare isrecruiting for Pharmacist position at our Mail Order Pharmacy location in Newark, Delaware. Weekend rotation coverage at the Christiana Hospital retail store is required.
We are committed to delivering unsurpassed excellence in pharmacy and customer service. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for dispensing medications and providing pharmaceutical care to patients based on valid orders from authorized healthcare providers. You will play a key role in evaluating medication needs, ensuring prescription accuracy, and offering drug-related guidance to medical personnel. This position also contributes to the overall success of pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure cost control and compliance with budget and formulary guidelines
- Resolve customer service issues in alignment with Christiana Care’s core values
- Review and verify prescription accuracy
- Promote OTC products and medical equipment
- Supervise and schedule pharmacy staff
- Maintain drug inventory and ensure timely turnover
- Encourage use of generics and preferred formulary options
- Interpret and verify medication orders for safety and accuracy
- Maintain patient medication records per regulatory and policy standards
- Provide drug information and consult with healthcare professionals
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure quality of work
- Coordinate resources to deliver efficient and cost-effective care
- Prepare compounded and sterile medications using aseptic techniques
- Support training programs for interns, residents, and technicians
- Participate in departmental committees and quality improvement initiatives
- Recommend process improvements and contribute to operational excellence
Education and experience requirements:
- B.S. in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
- Current licensure (or eligible to reciprocate) in state of Delaware
- Previous community pharmacy supervisory or managerial experience preferred
