Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

• BSN completion preferred

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Antepartum

Antepartum experience (including fetal monitoring) (required)

Postpartum experience (preferred)

Gynecologic surgery experience (hysterectomies, breast surgeries, bladder slings) (preferred)

Every other weekend & major holiday required

Call: 1-2 shifts per 6 weeks possible

May float within the Women’s Life Department

Patient population: High acuity; language barriers, Substance abuse, Chronic conditions affecting pregnancy, Help syndrome, Mag Drips

Ratios are never guaranteed but what the unit attempts to achieve with normal staffing. Ratios are subject to change based on staffing.

Care of the Extremely Low Birth Weight Neonate Certification - National Certification Corporation (preferred)

Recent OB, ED or critical care experience (preferred)

7 days maximum time off

2 references from last 2 years (Any reference type) - required for submission

Proof of identification required for submission

Certifications:

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring)

• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

• RNC-OB (Inpatient Obstetric Nursing)

• RNC-MNN (Maternal Newborn Nursing)

• RNC-NIC (Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing)

• RNC-LRN (Low Risk Neonatal Nursing)

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
