Get to Know Your Team:
- UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab.
Responsibilities- Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
- Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
- Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
QualificationsJob Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current Texas RN license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required before hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required before end of orientation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation
Preferred Job Requirements:
- One year of emergency nursing experience
- Two years of acute care nursing experience
