Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Patient Types:
35 weeks and greater will be delivered – will occasionally deliver earlier – will stabilize and ship
Antepartum, Labor and Delivery and Postpartum
Gestational HTN, Preeclampsia, Eclampsia, Multiples, Cord Prolapse, Diabetes – if Insulin drips are required will transfer out, Drug addiction/NAS babies – roughly 20-30% YTD
Newborn Nursery RN will attend all deliveries and be responsible for Neonate
Patient Ratio: L&D: 1/2, Postpartum - 1/6
Required Certification: AWHONN Fetal monitoring
Skills Required:
Labor RN will not circulate C-sections – they will stay in the OR to collect blood gas samples but OR team will do delivery and recovery
The ability to independently manage OB outpatients
Rule out labor
Pitocin titration and Magnesium Sulfate administration
Management of Gestational Hypertension
Management of postpartum hemorrhage
Floating: Yes - to the Postpartum Unit
Orientation:
Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Education department
L&D – 3 days of Orientation – dependent on experience and skillset
Scheduling:
Weekend Requirement: Every Other; three-night weekends
On-Call: Only if low on census
Holiday Requirement: Cover a 6-hour shift on either Christmas eve night or Christmas day.
7 days maximum time off
