The role you'll contribute:
The Director manages the functions required to support the market-wide medical staff organization.
Ensures that the activities of the medical staff organization meet all internal requirements (bylaws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures) while ensuring compliance with external accreditation standards, state and federal laws and Medicare conditions of Participation. The Director ensures administrative interface with the community including with members of the medical and allied health staff, medical staff leadership, related offices, health agencies and the public to assure and establish rapport, maintenance of effective lines of communication, and enhance effective relationships.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Leads the day-to-day operation of Medical Staff Services of the AdventHealth WNC Market.
- Establishes standards and analyzes work procedures for all facets of the medical staff office functions that promote best practices.
- Strategizes market-wide solutions that create efficiency and deliver a first-class experience to Medical Staff applicants.
- Develops department goals and monitors operational quality indicators that reflect meaningful measures of quality of services provided.
- Interprets, develops and implements practices of systems and functions to ensure continuous compliance by regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies (DNV, AOA, CMS, NCQA, AHCA, FMQA, AHS Corporate Compliance, Federal and State Regulations, etc.).
- Participates on hospital compliance teams and in regulatory and accreditation surveys.
- Actively safeguards the liability exposure for the Hospital and Medical Staff through the monitoring of compliance with the hospital's medical staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies and Procedures.
- Manages processes relative to investigative, disciplinary and legal proceedings such as Formal Investigations and Fair Hearing and Appeal.
- Seeks and coordinates legal opinions on medical staff issues as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor Degree in Business or Health Administration, or related field required
- 5 years experience in an acute are facility, such as Medical Staff Service
- Master's Degree in Health Administration preferred
- CPMSM - Certified Professional Medical Services Management preferred
