Nurse Practitioner Role Scope
·Rotate thru OR as first assist and Clinic – 80% Clinic – 20% OR as first assist
·Provides direct patient care in office consultations, including assessment, work-ups, triage, emergency work-ins, and other patient care activities
·Obtains and documents health history, performs and documents physical exam, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests
·Provides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment
·Collaborates with physicians to provide appropriate direct care interventions within scope of practice
·Collects, organizes, records, and discusses data as appropriate and uses sound clinical judgment based in best practice standards and evidenced based medicine
Shift
·Full Time – M – F - 8a – 430p – no holidays – no weekends
·Call: Open to discussion
Travel: some travel requirements, 3 locations (Milford, Bridgeport, Wilton as needed)

Qualifications
·Master’s Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant
·National Certification in Advanced Practice and current CPR certification
·FA course completion within 6 months of employment
·Current State of CT APRN license with prescriptive authority and current DEA number & 100% attendance to maintain annual mandatory skill updates
·2 years of experience in general surgery/colorectal surgery, ambulatory surgery or acute care setting for surgical care preferred
·Excellent clinical management skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take lead when appropriate
·Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to communicate in other languages highly desirable
·Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients of all ages
·Highly organized with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks with full autonomy
