To maintain a running inventory of all finished product labels and Material Safety Data sheets and determine when labels should be ordered to meet the production needs of the Extruding Department. To transfer finished products between package types and perform other assigned jobs. Reports directly to the Shift Foreman 24/27 and Production Team Lead of Hand Electrode.
- Ensure or safety, workmanship, product quality, and productivity in the performance of the job. Maintain a running inventory of all finished product labels and Safety Data sheets.
- Establish a label usage for each product.
- Keep records and maintain a three to six month supply of labels.
- Creates Requisitions for all non-contract labels.
- Orders labels and MSDS sheets through purchasing as required.
- Handles inter-plant transfers, sub-contract shipments for repackaging, pointed wire etc.
- Make finished product package transfers or oversee and coordinate the transfer with the appropriate packaging work center.
- Assist the Methods Department in determining the appropriate package size for new or redesigned products.
- Maintain and advise the Shift Foreman 24/27 or Production Team Lead Hand Electrode of bulk finished product inventories and packages produced at the One Pound Package Work Center.
- Supply Machine Division with accessory packages.
- Review, understand, and follow the departmental procedures, EW Specifications, Work Instructions, SSW Specifications, Plant Rules and Regulations and the Job Hazard Analysis that are associated with the performance of this job.
- Obey all safety rules, maintain the cleanliness of the work area and perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Foreman 24/27.
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- Must be able to read, write and do general math well enough to keep the records associated with this job. Must be able to understand and interpret the specifications and procedures related to this job.
- Must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious.
- Must be mechanically inclined, able to organize work, maintain records and require minimal supervision.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be proficient in the use of SAP, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and the label printing software.
