We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, API Product Managerto join our Treasury Services Digital Channelsteam.This role is located inNew York, NY

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manage the entire API product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization ensuring services are scalable, secure, and easy to use.
  • Collaborate closely with the API engineering teams on key elements of API design and principles such as intuitive naming, consistent patterns, versioning, etc.
  • Design service contracts (API specifications, etc.) with capability providers to create a consistent and strong API experience for bank’s clients.
  • Prioritize API features and enhancements based on customer feedback, usage data, and business impact.
  • Engage with customers, directly or indirectly, to understand their needs, pain points, and how they use APIs.
  • Main leadership of collating, generating, editing and publishing technical and functional content on API Developer Portal for client use.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in product management, with a recent focus on APIs for treasury services.
  • Experience in the banking and finance industry, familiarity with API and payments standards and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to take informed product decisions.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SDKs, modern architecture patterns, and related technologies
  • Experience working with developer communities and third-party developers.
  • Ability to understand UX/UI design and create requirements for engineering using Agile development methodology.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $68,000 and $147,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
