(5) eight-hour shifts 09-1730 or (4) ten-hour shifts, 07-1730

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Perioperative Services team at Christiana Surgery Center. As the Assistant Nurse Manager for the PACU, you will Co-lead a high performing team alongside the Nurse Manager in supervising the administrative aspects of nursing practice and patient care delivery, including Admissions, Prep & Hold and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The Assistant Nurse Manager will share 24-hour responsibility and accountability for daily operations with the Nurse Manager.
Responsibilities:
Directly supervises nursing and technical personnel: Assesses proficiency of staff, oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs of the department, evaluates staff performance, and Counsels staff members when performance issues are identified.
Participates in all hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
Functions as a highly regarded role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support the professional development of staff and the strategic goals of CCHS.
Identifies and develops strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and integrity of the staff.
Directs, mentors, and supports all levels of staff in the department.
Identifies potential future leaders and engages in succession planning.
Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.
Requirements:
- A master's degree in a nursing healthcare or business management field is required or currently enrolled to be acquired within five years of promotion into the position. lf no BSN, amaster’s degree in nursing is required.
- Five years of appropriate clinical and leadership experience in the area or specialty
- Qualified applicants are required to have at least two years of experience in critical care or step-down units. ICU experience preferred.
- Required to be flexible to a large number of patients during the day due to level one trauma hospital
- ACLS Required
- PALS preferred - required to acquire within 6 months
- TNCC preferred
- Specialty Certification Required
The successful candidate may be eligible for a $15,000 sign-on bonus to be paid over 24 months
