Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT.

Position Detail:
·Newborn nursery and NICU coverage:
·Weekdays: 5pm to 10 am/ Weekends: 24h coverage
·Rounding on healthy newborns only in the morning under supervision of Pediatrician/ neonatologist. Rounding in Nicu is not required.
·Hospital coverage includes attending C-sections (both scheduled and emergent), attending higher risk vaginal deliveries, managing photo therapy, occasional Pedi consults to E.D., and stabilization of newborns for transport and admitting newborns to NICU (average daily census 4-6). Neonatologists are responsible for coordinating transport.
·24/7 Neonatologist support and guidance. Neonatologists are in the house from 10 am to 5 pm and cover from home (20 minutes away)
·Great work life balance with combination with only 17h or 24h in house coverage
·No circumcision
·Hospital averages 1000 deliveries annually

Qualifications
Requirements:
·A passion for providing patient-centered care to a pediatric patient population- Newborns
·A willingness to work closely and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team (Pediatricians and Neonatologist)
·Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner: Graduate degree in nursing accredited by one of the national certifying bodies in nursing. (Or, on or before December 31, 2004 completion of an advance nurse practitioner program recognized by a national certifying body for certification as a nurse practitioner.)
·OrPhysician Assistant: Graduation from a physician assistant program accredited, at the time of graduation, by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant: (ARC- PA)
·Neonatal Resuscitation Provider NRP certification
