Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Cardiac Cath Lab experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• Travel experience is required from any number of months.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months
• BSN completion preferred
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

Additional Details:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Special Procedures: CPorts for STEMI, Elective Cath’s, IR procedures, TEE cardioversions

2 years of experience required with Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, ASD Closures, Cardiac Implant Closure Device, Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations Adult, IABP Placement/Removal, Left heart catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Right heart catheterization, and Temporary Pacemaker
Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, interventional radiology and special procedures experience preferred ; ep lab skills preferred to include insertion and programming of AICDs, pacemaker insertion and cardiac ablation
Must have experience with Accurate monitoring, Equipment set up, Perform EKG lead placement, Prep access site, Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, Room circulator, Scrub- maintain sterile field, Vascular Closure Systems
MD Board of Physicians certified required
Scrubs: provided by unit, color ceil blue
Patient Diagnoses: STEMI, Abnormal EKG, CHF
Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics
Orientation Hours: 27
Call Required: Yes Note: 8 to 10 shifts
Trauma Level I Experience: Preferred
Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
Previous Charge Experience: Preferred
No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment.
Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
7 days maximum time off
