Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• 3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• COVID booster required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established, however this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians is aware of what location they’ll be reporting to.
No block scheduling.

- What units are included in the float pool: ICU, MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses and
would include inpatients holding in ED.
Nurse:Patient Ratios: PCU 1:4 MedSurg Tele 1:5-6.
Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: at least 1 year in ICU setting.
Are RNs required to titrate drips : Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, -
Dobutamine, Insulin. Travelers must be comfortable managing the majority of these drips.
Nurses must be able to interpret strips.
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling ): 7-7 for AM and PM.
Scheduler for float pool will make the schedule. Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks
at a time. Travelers will need to be flexible. Night shift will try to accommodate for block
scheduling.
Weekend Requirements: Every Other
Holiday Requirements: Will include travelers in perm staff rotation.
Is there a call or standby requirement : Yes-on shifts when we end up with excessive staff. We would put them on standby for their 12 hour shift with the understanding that if we end up needing them, we can call them in at any point during those 12 hours.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Currently - solid color professional scrubs. October will align with
Dignity guideline which will be Navy scrubs.
