Fori Automation’s manufacturing team is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) coordinator. The candidate will work out of our Shelby Twp., Michigan facility and must demonstrate the following to be considered. Responsible for implementation of the Environmental, Health and Safety policy for the facility and operations. Functions as the Coordinator of Environmental, Health and Safety for the operation.
- Implement the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) vision throughout the company.
- Advance the EHS Management Systems and ISO 14001 initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS laws/regulations/codes/rules including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI,
etc. - Act as the OSHA and EPA liaison.
- Assist in the development of appropriate goals and milestones for Environmental, Health & Safety.
- Responsible for managing the EHS budget.
- Develop appropriate performance metrics, establish relevant tracking processes, and communicate
results. - Work with all Production departments to reduce the number and severity of all injuries.
- Provide technical guidance on EHS issues to supervisors and managers.
- Develop and implement training programs to communicate EHS information to facilitate employee
awareness and involvement. - Review and approve new equipment installations and manufacturing layout changes for EHS issues.
- Work with Maintenance and the Production Departments to assure the safety of all equipment and
facilities at the facility. - Maintain a fair, consistent management of the implementation of company policy.
- Establish, maintain, and analyze employee injury statistics to identify all hazards and areas of
potential loss. - Conduct incident/injury investigations.
- Create and update emergency action plans and the Emergency Manual.
- EHS Liaison for the facility with Lincoln Electric Corporate EHS.
- Understand & implement all Corporate EHS Directives & Information Systems.
- Understand and develop the Company’s EHS Policy, and how it relates to this job.
- Be aware of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agency rules, laws, and regulations as well as the
- Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
- Immediately notify the appropriate person if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating
correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures.
Quality Management Systems
- Oversees ISO-9001 certification process and maintains all required documentation.
- Develops and updates quality manual including policies and procedures.
- Works with all departments to establish and sustain a process of continuous quality improvement.
- Provides assistance in vendor evaluation for ISO9001 requirements.
- Responsible for internal ISO audits.
- Defines long term quality goals and objectives, reports the performance of the QMS to senior
management. - Coordinates and oversees Continuous Improvement activities
- Assures that all customer certification requirements are identified and proposes action plan to obtain
and/or maintain certifications. (ie.: ISO14001, Q1, ISO 9001)
- College/University degree, preferably in Engineering or EHS field, with three years’ experience; or
equivalent industry experience. - Strong math and statistics aptitude
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience interfacing with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal
