Job Summary and Qualifications
When you work as an RN on our Trauma Services team, you are joining a team of nursing and healthcare professionals that are working together to care for our patients like family. What you will do in this role:
- You will be accountable and responsible for the delivery of the consistent flow of trauma patients through the Emergency Department.
- You will demonstrate the ability to adapt technique and treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
- You will balance unexpected tasks while performing ongoing responsibilities under ordinary direction and minimal supervision.
- You will need to stay current and proficient on job related knowledge, skills and industry changes.
- You will be assuming accountability for identifying problems and issues, generating solutions and anticipating effects of decisions.
- You will actively participate and oversee performance and process improvements for patient care with departments, disciplines, trauma mid-level providers and trauma surgeons.
- You will participate in monthly multidisciplinary meetings and process improvement meetings.
- You will assist with or perform review of the medical record of all traumas patients, collecting required data for entry into the trauma registry.
- You will precept and orientate newly certified TNCC RN's and actively participates in improvements in the orientation process.
What qualifications you will need for this role:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure in the State of Kansas a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- 1 to 2 years of ICU or ED RN experience preferred
