Qualifications:

  • You will need to hold a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy
  • Active IL OT License
  • Previous school-based experience preferred

Role Overview:

As an OT, you will support students in school settings by assessing their needs, developing individualized plans, and implementing interventions to help them succeed academically, socially, and physically. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.

Job Details:

  • In-person part-time position in the vicinity of Aurora, IL (West side)
  • Paid orientation days on August 4-5 with school calendar start mid-August (8/12)
  • Caseload: Primarily Elementary students: Regular Ed/Resource and ED/BD self-contained program
  • You'll work alongside a team of therapists including other OTs, as well as SLP, Social workers and school psychologists
  • Mentorship is available, this is a great training ground with a supportive team and invested supervision

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students' motor, sensory, and functional abilities to identify areas of need and develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions in accordance with students' IEPs, helping them achieve academic and developmental goals.
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other specialists to create supportive learning environments tailored to students' unique needs.
  • Contribute to the development of IEPs by offering insights on motor development, sensory needs, and appropriate accommodation or modifications.
