Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required from any number of months
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Mississippi license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
Fingerprint Requirement: Remote process must allow 10 days, In Person can be done at Jackson or Grenada campus the week prior to start.
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Shifts & Scheduling: Travelers are expected to fill holes but managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows, open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is not required.
Weekend Requirement: Every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meet needs of department.
Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with regular staff.
Call or a Standby requirement: None
Floating Requirements: Within skillset, all staff float between all medsurg units. higher acuity - patients would be given to core staff.
Looking for someone that is good in a fast-paced Ortho/medical environment.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Ortho, postop total joints, general medsurg overflow
Experience or ‘Must have’ skills: Experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes
RNs required to titrate drips: Heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unit.
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: cardiac drips on 3 south only.
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color, needs to be solid color and professional.
Unit/Department specific orientation: First day, all paperwork and attestations, logins for Omnicell and Epic, show around unit (a few hours), discuss scheduling. 2 additional shifts with preceptor.
7 days maximum time off
1 reference from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
1 reference from last 3 years (Any reference type) - required for submission
