Job Summary and Qualifications

· Directs and redirects team assignments as needed throughout shift

· Assistnew employees, assigned employees, and cross training employees toward their orientation goals

· Serve as aresource tostaff forsolving clinical problems.

· Assiststaff to efficientlyutilizestaffing resources to meet patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities.

· Act as a resource inidentifyingand/or solving administrative/operational problems.

· Anticipate actual/potential problems that may occur on their shift andsetsshift priorities accordingly.

· Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems in a fair, consistent manner.

· Give ongoingtimelyfeedback to staff on performance.

· Collaborate with the nurse manager or directorregardingstaff performance

· Assistin the preparation and implementation of the annual goals for the department.

· Keep professionallycurrent,by attending continuing education programs, seminars, workshops, and/or independent research reading.

· Develop and implement staffing plan for shift based on patient acuity, patient census and available staff.

· Directs and redirects team assignments as needed throughout shift

· Maintains a safe,comfortableand therapeutic environment for patients and families

· Monitors all aspects of patient care in an environment thatoptimizespatient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors

· Demonstrates knowledge of medications and medication effects based on age of the patient and their clinicalconditionprovides guidance to staff on ongoing basis as needed.

· Reassesses patients systematically toidentifyoutcomes of care andidentifiesneeds that require intervention

· Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the life span and providesage appropriatecare to the patient population served

· Interprets data about the patient’s statusin order toidentifyeach patient’s age specific needs and provides care needed by the patient group

· Evaluates outcomes of care asindicatedby the patient’s response to treatment, revises plan of care, and sets priorities for care

· Works collaboratively withtreatmentteam to assureappropriate utilizationof services and to plan for post discharge needs.

What qualifications you will need:

· Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

· Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

· (RN) Registered Nurse
