Position Summary:

At Plains All American Pipeline, the Financial Sustainment team within the Accounting organization is responsible for 1) chart of accounts related tasks, 2) master data management and 3) many other financial system enablement tasks.

The Chart of Accounts team needs a system-savvy accountant for responsibilities to include ongoing Chart of Accounts maintenance duties in both Oracle EDM (Enterprise Data Management) and Oracle Cloud ERP.

Position will interact with entire Accounting group as well as with Information Services and other users of financial systems. This position will also interact with those in the Financial Sustainment team that are responsible for other areas. This position reports to the Chart of Accounts Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve submitted Chart of Accounts requests in Oracle EDM

  • Compliance with Chart of Accounts governance policy and procedures

  • Chart of Accounts cross validation rule maintenance in Oracle ERP

  • Setup and Maintenance of new companies in the legal entity structure in the Oracle ERP

  • Maintenance of HR and Projects tables related to chart of accounts values

  • Business support for integration of Chart of Accounts to Workday, Chrome River, and CluedIn

  • EDM and Chart of Accounts training, when applicable

  • Quarterly SOX control reviews related to Chart of Accounts

Additional periodic assistance with:

  • Support and training for users of Oracle Cloud General Ledger module

  • Oracle quarterly patch testing

  • Oracle report design and testing

  • Liason between functional teams and I/S to interpret and resolve accounting system issues

  • Learn & assist with other areas within the Financial Sustainment department

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Accounting/Finance degree preferred, Management Information Systems (MIS) degree considered

  • 3+ yrs accounting experience

  • Strong experience with Oracle Cloud ERP or other major ERP financial system is required

  • Oracle Cloud EPM experience, specifically Enterprise Data Management (EDM), is a plus

  • Proficient in MS Office products including advanced Excel skills

  • Financial system implementation or upgrade experience a plus

  • Experience with application training tools and/or automated testing tools a plus

  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks

  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
