Job Summary and Qualifications
As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in the immediate post-operative care of surgical patients. Your responsibilities will include managing airway support, closely monitoring neurological and cardiac status, and responding promptly to any complications or side effects. You will provide initial wound care to the patients' surgical site and ensure patient stability during recovery. You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia team. You will provide professional nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team include physicians, to deliver quality health care. This role includes on-call availability during select non-business hours which will be discussed in the interview.
- Plans and implements patient care and teaching based on a total assessment and age of the patients.
- Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patients
- Participates and cooperates in the unit-based Quality Improvement processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Experience
- Critical Care of PACU RN experience- preferred
- One-year of acute care RN experience- required
Education
- Associates degree in Nursing- required
- Bachelors in Science in Nursing-preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Texas registered nurse license- required
- Basic Life Support (BLS)- required
- ACLS- required within one year of employment
- PALS- required within one year of employment
