Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required for submission).

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics.

Patient Diagnoses: Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients.

Staffing Ratios: Goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5

Weekends: Variable based on unit needs.

Schedule: No set/blocked scheduling. Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing.

Orientation: First week: Mon-Fri dayshift. Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Special Focus: • Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols • Patient falls prevention

Skills Required: • MS/Tele • Telemetry • Interpretation of dysrhythmias • Telemetry monitoring • Use of Rapid Response Teams • Feeding tube care and management • IV therapy/Phlebotomy • Blood Product Administration • Central line blood draw • Peripheral Line Care/Management • PICC line management • Starting IVs

Float Required: Yes Note: to other MedSurg Oncology units.

Years of Experience: 2 year(s) Note: Must have MS oncology and at least 1 year hematology / oncology experience in work history and checklist- 1 year minimum to Screen.

ONS/ONCC required.

Patient Diagnoses: Acute Leukemia population. Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Medical unit - high number of blood products, IV antibiotics and electrolytes.

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract.

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more.
