Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health System Senior Director - Occupational Health Services (OHS and OSHA exp highly preferred!).

In this role, the successful candidate The Senior Director of Occupational Health Services for the Health System will have oversight of the Occupational Health and Safety departments across the NYULH system. Including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island-Mineola and Long Island-Suffolk Campuses. This role includes setting strategy, setting department productivity, and compliance with health system and regulatory requirements. The Senior Director reports to the Vice President for Professional Services at NYU Langone Hospitals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as required
  • Provides direct supervision of the OHS operational Directors of the NYU Langone Health campuses.
  • Conductsongoingreviewsofthecurrentstaffingstructuresandmakesrecommendationsasneededto improve departmental performance/efficiency on each campus in collaboration with the Chief Hospital Epidemiologist and the Medical Director for OHS.
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director for OHS to supervise professional and administrative staff at the Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island-Mineola and Long Island-Suffolk Campuses.
  • Reviews the performance of supervised staff routinely and ensures they meet health system requirements consistent with their title and responsibilities.
  • Develops and manages fiscal planning and ensures that budgets are overseen according to budgetary guidelines from Finance.
  • Monitors fiscal performance against approved budgets and justifies variances.
  • Prepares detailed financialanalysesofnewprojectsandbusinessopportunitiestopromoteintegration ofOHSoperationsacrossthe NYU Langone Health System
  • Provides leadership and oversight for clinical information system development, deployment and optimization, includingcoordinationofongoingreviewsandenhancementstoOHSdocumentationworkflowsandreportingin the electronic health record. Serves as a liaison to MCIT leadership and health system operations leadership to facilitate and maximize use of electronic health record systems for OHS.
  • CollaborateswithHumanResourcesandMedicalStaffServicesatallsitestoensure theOHSrequirementsfor individuals in the pre-hire and annual health assessment process are completed efficiently and meet health system and/or regulatory requirements In collaboration with the OHS Medical Director and Chief Hospital Epidemiologist, ensures NYUL Health Systems OHS policies and protocols are consistent with current occupational medicine practice and regulatory requirements
  • IncollaborationwiththeOHSMedicalDirectorandChiefHospitalEpidemiologist, NYUL Health Systems ensures OHS policies and protocols are consistent with current occupational medicine practice and regulatory requirements
  • In collaboration with the OHS Medical Director and Chief Hospital Epidemiologist, develops new health programs andinitiativestoensurecontinuedworkplacesafetyandmonitoringbasedonindustryandclinicalbestpracticesin the areas of workers compensation, transitional work programs, and prevention programs.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources on potential new wellness initiatives.
  • Serves as the NYU Langone Health subject matter expert for OHS guidelines and requirements issued by the NYSDepartmentofHealth,NYCDepartmentofHealthandMentalHygiene,OSHA,CDC,JointCommissionand other governmental and regulatory agencies.
  • Creates project teams or groups to address quality and performance issues facing the service.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters Degree of Science in Nursing (MSN) or an equivalent degree preferred with current licensure by New York State as a Registered Nurse. At least 5 years of leadership experience in Occupational Health or equivalent field. Possess outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, professional demeanor and demonstrated ability to coordinate patient care and educate patients, family and staff.

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $166,246.32 - $277,077.22 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
