Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Operations Accountant to support their Equipment Operations division. This role plays a critical function in the organization’s financial operations, managing key accounting responsibilities such as milestone-based invoicing, revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion methods, and ensuring accurate project-level financial reporting. The position also contributes to broader process improvement and financial analysis initiatives across business units.
This is a hybrid role that requires a motivated, analytical professional with strong communication skills and a background in project-based accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage customer invoicing tied to project milestones and ensure proper revenue recognition under the percentage-of-completion (POC) method.
Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations during month-end close.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes for operations teams.
Conduct analysis on expenses, capitalization trends, and project KPIs.
Create and present monthly and ad hoc financial reports to leadership.
Lead or contribute to initiatives focused on automation and process improvements.
Oversee financial tracking across a portfolio of 100+ equipment projects.
Collaborate across departments to ensure financial clarity and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (Accounting strongly preferred).
CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-project or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with project-based accounting and POC revenue recognition.
Proficient in the use of ERP and financial reporting systems.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable working independently and collaborating across departments.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to sit for extended periods; hybrid on-site presence required.
