Department/Unit Summary
- Adult psych unit age 18 and up - 22 beds - have an additional 8 beds as overflow unit
- Geri Psych unit age 65 and over - 7 geri beds

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
Additional requirements & Certifications include:
- One (1) year experience in a behavioral health care setting preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BCLS certification or obtained within three months from date of hire.
- Handle With Care Safe Physical Management upon hire
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
RN BHU Position Summary
- Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Reports to: Director of Behavioral Health
- Documents patient care given.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. - Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
