What We’re Looking For: High School Diploma/GED
Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP, AMT, NHA, ASPT, etc.)
A year of lab experience Even better!

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience:One year experience of relevant phlebotomy and/or specimen processing/laboratory experience, CMA or CNA; preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Phlebotomy Certification from ASCP, ASPT, AMT, NHA or other national accrediting agency as approved by Laboratory Senior Leadership. (Phlebotomy certification is required in facilities where phlebotomy is included as part of job responsibilities); required.
    • *OR* MLA certification from ASCP or CMLA certification from AMT, preferred.
  • Additional Skills Required:
    • For facilities where Phlebotomy is a requirement of the role, phlebotomy certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment.
    • Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.
