ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in Herndon, VA, to create and maintain technical documentation related to a mission-critical application in support of one of our key National Intelligence Customers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create andmaintaintechnical documentation for software applications, systems, and processes, including user manuals, system guides, release notes, and knowledge base articles.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and software developers to gather information and understand complex technical concepts.

  • Translate technical information into clear and concise documentation that is easily understandable by end-users.

  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of all technical documentation produced.

  • Organize and structure information effectively tofacilitateeasy navigation and retrieval of documentation.

  • Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and readability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and solutions architects, to gather information and provide input on documentation requirements.

MinimumQualifications:

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Technical Writing, English, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field of study

  • 4+years of experience in Technical Writing in the Intelligence Community

  • Proficiencyin using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other IT Service Management Frameworks.

  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST 800-53)

  • Certifications in technical writing, documentation management, or related field (e.g., Technical Writer Certification, Certified Professional Technical Communicator – Foundation)

  • Familiarity with the Agile development methodology and software development lifecycle.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office
    machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may
    involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in
    these situations.
