Role Purpose Statement

TheColdFoodOperationsSupervisoratSkyChefsplaysacriticalroleinoverseeingandmanagingthepreparation,storage,anddistributionofcoldfooditemsinaccordancewithcompanystandards,customerspecifications,andfoodsafetyregulations.Thispositionisresponsibleforsupervisingateamofkitchenstaff,ensuringthatallcoldfooditemsarepreparedefficientlyandmeetqualitystandards.Thesupervisorwillalsomanageinventory,monitortheadherencetofoodsafetyprotocols,andworkcollaborativelywithotherdepartmentstoensureseamlessoperations.Theidealcandidatewillhavestrongleadershipskills,adeepunderstandingoffoodproductionprocesses,andacommitmenttomaintaininghighstandardsofcleanlinessandsafety.ThisroleisessentialinensuringthatSkyChefsdeliverspremium,high-qualitycoldfoodproductstoourairlineandhospitalityclients.

Main Accountabilities

Supervisor Responsibility

  • ResponsibleforsupervisingtheColdFoodDepartmentandworkingcloselywithotherdepartmentleaders
  • Ensurethattheareaofresponsibilityisproperlyorganized,staffedanddirectedandthatalldeliverytimesarebeingmettimely
  • Conductdailyworkgroupmeetings
  • Maintainsallfinancialgoalsrelatedtomaterial,productivity,overtime,andlaborgoals
  • Ensurecompliancewithallgovernmentregulatoryagenciesstandards(example:FoodandDrugAdministration(FDA),UnitedStatedDepartmentofAgriculture(USDA),OccupationalSafetyandHealthAdministration(OSHA),EnvironmentalProtectionAdministration(EPA),DepartmentofTransportation(DOT),HazardAnalysisandCriticalControlPoints(HACCP),etc.)
  • Documentandfollowuponalldepartmentprocessesinordertoimplementimprovements
  • Otherdutiesasdeemednecessary

Leadership

  • Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Associates/Bachelor’sdegreeorequivalentexperience
  • Inaddition,onetothreeyearsofsupervisoryexperienceinafoodproductionandrestaurantorcateringenvironmentorequivalentexperience
  • Foodhandlingandfoodsafetyknowledgeexperience
  • Musthavestrongandeffectiveleadershipandcommunicationskillsandtheabilitytosuccessfullymanageastaffof20+hourlyemployees
  • Candidatemustbecomfortablewithalllevelsofemployeesandhavetheabilitytodrivepositiveprogramchange.
  • Abilitytogivenegativeandpositivefeedbacktoemployeesonadailybasis
  • WorkingknowledgeofOSHA,GoodManufacturingPractice(GMP),FDA,USDAandEPAregulations
  • Excellentverbal,writtenandorganizationalskillsrequiredalongwiththeabilitytomulti-task
