Location: Dedham, MA | Setting: Residential Program | Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, rotating weekends)

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in delivering direct, patient-centered care to individuals working toward recovery from eating disorders and co-occurring conditions. You’ll collaborate with physicians, therapists, and dietitians to support holistic healing.

Schedule:

  • Full-Time (32 or 40 hours per week)

  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Includes rotating weekends

Responsibilities Include::

What You’ll Do:

    • Take full responsibility for the quality of nursing care delivered to patients, including assessment, teaching, counseling, and collaboration with the treatment team.

    • Perform thorough nursing assessments considering each patient’s medical history, age, mental and physical status, and social factors.

    • Monitor vital signs, identify and report abnormalities, and respond promptly to changes in patient status.

    • Administer medications and treatments safely and document all interventions accurately in the medical record.

    • Develop individualized crisis plans and contribute to the overall master treatment plans alongside clinicians and dietitians.

    • Support a safe, therapeutic environment by conducting regular patient rounds and participating in community meetings and group therapy as needed.

    • Advocate for patients and provide them and their families with education and tools for long-term recovery.

    • Maintain the medication administration record (MAR) and ensure PRN medications are administered appropriately.

    • Serve as charge nurse when assigned, demonstrating leadership and sound clinical judgment.

Qualifications::

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience

Licensure/Certification:

  • Massachusetts RN license.
  • CPR Certified, required prior to employment

Knowledge:

  • Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management

Required competencies:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize independently
  • Ability to multi-task in a changing and fast paced mental health environment
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborate, team environment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical agility to manage patients in crisis. Push, pull and lift 10 to 75 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping.
