ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented LeadData Engineer to join our Data and AI Practice onsite in Chantilly and/or Herndon, VA. You will be a part of a dynamic, cross-functional team focused on transforming how Government clients extract insights from data to achieve critical mission objectives. This leadership role involves guiding a team and collaborating with others to implement this transformative process. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in the analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of complex, enterprise-wide, cloud-based database solutions that align with mission goals and requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust data pipelines and data storage solutions to integrate data from various systems and networks, ensuring seamless data migration
- Collaborate with cloud and system architects to design databases to meet customer needs.
- Work with data consumers to develop data requirements to support analytics and machine learning tasks.
- Implement data pipelines and data storage solutions to support analytic workflows.
- Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput for real-time and batch data processing.
- Provisioning and managing database instances, setting up replication and high availability, and monitoring database performance
- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data security policies and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles
- Experience in database services from cloud services providers such as Oracle
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers
- Direct line management experience, including project, people, customer, and financial management
- Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Familiarity with data security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST framework)
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Familiarity with records management policies and procedure
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
- Knowledge of data governance and metadata management
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess a current and active TS/SCI with polygraph
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
