Department: Ultrasound
Shift: full-time 36 hr/wk 6:45pm-7:15am Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday. Holiday call rotation.

What You’ll Do:
Core Responsibilities
- Perform advanced ultrasound examinations in various specialties (e.g., abdominal, obstetrics, gynecology, vascular, cardiac depending on certification).
- Independently assess and adapt procedures based on patient condition or clinical history.
- Utilize advanced technology to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
- Collaborate with physicians (e.g., radiologists, cardiologists, OB/GYNs) to discuss findings and ensure accurate diagnosis.
- Document and communicate results in the electronic medical record system.
Leadership & Expertise
- Serve as a clinical resource or mentor for lower-level sonographers (Sonographer I/II).
- May be involved in training students or new hires, overseeing competency assessments, and offering technical guidance.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives or departmental policies.
Technical Skills
- Operate advanced ultrasound equipment and ensure proper maintenance and calibration.
- Ensure image quality standards and proper documentation protocols.
- May specialize in high-risk obstetrics, interventional procedures, or vascular studies.
Requirements
- ARDMS or ARRT certification in relevant specialties (e.g., RDMS, RVT, RCS).
- Several years of experience (typically 3+).
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, pathology, and sonographic techniques.
Patient Care
- Provide compassionate, respectful care to a diverse patient population.
- Explain procedures clearly and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Adapt techniques based on individual needs (e.g., pediatric, elderly, critically ill).
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
- Graduate of ARRT-approved Program or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in sonography, required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Certified and registered by ARDMS in three specialties. Vascular Technology is a required specialty. Pediatric Sonography or Obstetrics and Gynecology is a required specialty. Breast Sonography is excluded from one of the three required. Required.
- Vascular Technology – by ARRT in Vascular Sonography; RT(S)(VS) or RDMS, RT(VS) or, ARDMS in Vascular Technology; RDMS, RVT, VT or by CCI in Vascular Ultrasound; RT(S), RVS or RDMS, RVS. Required.
- Pediatric Sonography – RDMS, PS or Obstetrics/Gynecology – RDMS, OB/GYN. Required.
- Applicable state license, required.
