Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• 22 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Shift: Day (07:00 - 19:30) Night (19:00 - 07:30)
Oncology Experience Preferred But Not Required
12 James Surg Onc is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. This is a very busy surgical floor. All perm staff is PCU trained.
Weekends - variable based on unit needs
No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
Day / Night rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs.
Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.
Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
Patient Age group: Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: Surgical Oncology: breast, thyroid, melanoma, Hepatobiliary: liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine, Colorectal: colon, rectal cancer, Plastics: reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma
Special Procedures/Unit Details: Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
Special Equipment: B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds
RTO required with submission
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
