Beechwood is hiring a Director of Sales and Marketing. The Director of Sales & Marketing provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to Beechwood Sales & Service’s sales organization. This role is responsible for developing and executing business initiatives, optimizing supplier partnerships, overseeing marketing activities, and driving overall sales performance aligned with company objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of annual sales and marketing programs
- Oversee sales organization design, including department structure, role clarity, headcount planning, and resource deployment
- Drive continuous improvement across the sales department to maximize personnel and resource effectiveness
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics to ensure retail execution meets quality standards
- Ensure brand-level sales and promotional initiatives are aligned with corporate priorities
Training & Development:
- Design and implement comprehensive sales training and professional development programs
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance
Marketing & Brand Management:
- Oversee execution of company-wide marketing programs, digital platforms, and promotional activities
- Ensure cost-effective marketing investments that support overall sales growth
- Manage quality, cost, and output of the company’s sign department
Supplier Relations & Portfolio Management:
- Facilitate professional, productive relationships with supplier partners through the Brand Management Team
- Monitor supplier satisfaction and proactively address relationship health
- Manage product portfolio decisions, including SKU additions and rationalization
- Oversee efforts to recruit new supplier brands aligned with company growth strategy
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the annual sales and marketing department budget
- Evaluate sales and marketing investments to ensure proper resources allocation across channels, brands, and growth opportunities
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Maintain collaborative relationships with internal departments to support company-wide success
- Serve as a visible leader within the industry, building positive relationships with key market stakeholders
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies that may impact the business
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBA or bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in the beverage industry
- Proven experience leading large sales teams in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, coaching, and supervisory skills
- Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated business acumen, analytical capabilities, and sound financial understanding
- Strong decision-making abilities with sound judgment
- Ability to effectively engage and present to leadership teams, supplier partners, and key accounts
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- This role requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Frequent local travel to supplier meetings, market visits, customer accounts, and occasional overnight travel as required
