Job Summary
Provides engineering support and supervises employees and operations of a Wastewater or Leachate treatment plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Manages Wastewater Treatment or Leachate treatment employees and daily field operations to maintain optimum treatment unit throughput at each deployed treatment unit. Oversees individual treatment units within a given geographical area to ensure all necessary resources required to accomplish treatment activities are organized and scheduled.
  • Ensures maintenance plan being followed for each treatment unit deployed in the geographical area.
  • Provides field-level engineering support to ensure all services are conducted in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensures established safety standards are being adhered to in the field.
  • Ensures water quality standards adhered to at each treatment unit deployed. May involve taking samples in the field and providing data to management.
  • Oversees purchasing function including purchasing supplies and maintaining purchase order log for the treatment units deployed in his or her geographical area.
  • Assembles and analyzes data. Tests and monitors results and creates appropriate reports.
  • Serves as a liaison between treatment operations and site management, vendors, contractors, customers, security, and others.
  • Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other environmental health and safety standards and regulations.
  • Oversees personnel needs of the department including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma and GED (accredited), and four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirements).

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • None required.
