PHARMACY TECHNICIAN SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees daily pharmacy technician/student operations and scheduling. Supervises pharmacy technician/student activities and ensures that they are in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. Councils staff on their performance and provide documentation of exemplary and unsatisfactory work performance at time of occurrence. Modify and implement pharmacy technician workflow to the needs of the department. Works under the supervision of a pharmacist. Participates in performance improvement activities within Pharmacy and with outside departments to identify and rectify problems. Helps prepare/maintain pharmacy technician/student work schedules. Plans daily coverage according to patient needs and personnel availability. Run the monthly pharmacy technician meeting. Prepare the agenda and minutes for pharmacy technician meetings. Orients and trains new staff as measured by trainee feedback and their ability to perform assigned tasks. Acts as training resource to other technicians and students.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 2-4 years Pharmacy experience required and pharmacy purchasing experience preferred.
• PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Tech
• PTSR - Pharmacy Tech State Registration
• BLS - Basic Life Support (within 18 months)

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Great customer service skills, employee relations management, and work habits required. Attend CE meeting or accomplish necessary CE to retain certification.
