Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests on concrete, aggregates, cement, and other materials according to ASTM, ACI, and other relevant standards.
  • Conduct fresh and hardened concrete testing, including slump, air content, unit weight, compressive strength, and durability tests.
  • Sample and test raw materials such as sand, gravel, and cement to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, sample logs, and mix designs.
  • Assist in troubleshooting concrete performance issues and provide recommendations for adjustments.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
  • Work closely with production and quality control teams to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Perform trial batching and research on new mix designs.
  • Completing all other projects and duties as assigned by the QC Manager
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized lab environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Associate's Degree, Materials Science, Construction Technology, or a related field (preferred but not required with sufficient experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a concrete or construction materials laboratory.
  • Certifications (Preferred): ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I, ACI Aggregate Testing Technician, or other relevant industry certifications.
  • Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with ASTM, ACI, and DOT specifications for concrete and aggregates.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to interpret technical data and prepare reports.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
