The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:- Providing individualized care to the emergency department’s long-stay patient population, which is mostly comprised of patients boarding for definitive psychiatric care.
- Providing individualized care for patients boarding with behavioral health emergencies
- Addressing urgent medical needs
- Attending morning rounds with the ED Psychiatry team and the charge nurse to review and coordinate plans
- Supporting the nursing staff and the Behavioral Response Team in treating ED patients with acute agitation and unsafe behaviors using both pharmacological and non-pharmacological de-escalation techniques
- Providing emergency care to infants, children and young adults in a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center with trauma-related, surgical and medical illnesses of various acuities and complexity.
- Collaborating with a supervising physician to conduct patient assessments and physical examinations, and to diagnose and treat health problems.
- Reviewing and addressing abnormal test results for discharged ED patients
- 39 hours per week, shifts are Monday through Sunday and include days/evenings/overnights/weekends/holidays. (Eligible for full time benefits)
To qualify you must have:- A Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN)
- A current MA PNP/FNP
- Pediatric acute care experience preferred.
- At least one year of RN/NP experience in an acute care setting preferred.
