Responsibilities:

The Licensed Social Worker provides individual or group counseling, behavior management plans, consultation with team members (special educators, related service providers), and formal/informal monitoring of a child’s progress through daily log notes, quarterly reports, and annual review testing. This position may include composing social histories. Integral to this role is linking families to services and supports that are available to children with developmental delays and disabilities.

The Licensed Social Worker is considered qualified personnel as defined in Early Intervention regulations to participate as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team or as a supplemental evaluator. This position includes composing developmental evaluations including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) for children of the NYS Early Intervention Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Delivers specialized individual or group instruction to eligible children.
Consults with classroom teachers and other special education providers to help them adjust a student's learning environment and/or modify instructional methods to better meet the student's needs.
Assesses and documents a child’s progress through formal and informal measurements.
Writes daily log notes, quarterly progress notes and an annual review report.
May conduct, write, and help implement Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Provides parent support and education.
Attends Early Intervention, Preschool, or School Age meetings to determine eligibility and a plan for services.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate from an accredited graduate level social work program.
Must have certification and licensing: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
Must meet all state licensure requirements.
