Job Description
The Dean, Academic Prelicensure provides visionary leadership for the nursing program, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards. The role directs the research, development, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives, programs, and academic resources for the pre-licensure nursing program to foster improved retention, academic success, and first-time NCLEX success. Provides leadership that helps students achieve their educational potential in all learning environments, such as standardized testing, remediation, and tutoring services, and NCLEX preparation. Will work collaboratively with and guide the prelicensure campus leaders, BSN-OL leadership, NVCAS, Senior Managers, Student Success Coaches, and student service leadership to ensure the planning, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs for continuous quality improvement
- Uses research, assessment, and evaluation data to develop, programs, initiatives and resources that improve graduate NCLEX success, and evaluates and reports on the outcomes of such initiatives.
- Develops, evaluates, and reports on outcomes of programs, initiatives, and resources to foster increased student retention and graduation rate from improved academic success.
- Participates in designing and implementing research to identify successful NCLEX success and retention factors.
- Provides analysis, interpretation, and recommendations based on data to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes at campus/BSN-OL levels.
- Collaborates with campuses and BSN-OL Leaders to implement academic success programs.
- Establishes policies and processes and collaborates with campus/BSN-OL personnel to ensure successful implementation of academic success programs and initiatives on each campus/BSN-OL.
- Directs a team of national staff to provide support to campuses and BSN-OL in implementing academic success programs including assisting in training of staff in academic success centers.
- Collaborates with virtual and campus centers for academic success to develop strategies for improving student success based on research, assessment, and evaluation data.
- Demonstrates current, detailed, and accurate knowledge of pre-licensure BSN program and accurately communicates academic success policies and practices to faculty, campus leadership, and Centers for Academic Success staff.
- Leads development and implementation of colleague and student trainings of academic initiatives.
- Analyzes relevant student academic data to identify academic success factors.
- Demonstrates TEACH and Chamberlain Care behaviors and accountability in meeting standards of service excellence to students, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Participates in professional organizations as appropriate and serves on college committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursingrequired, PhD preferred.
- Professional nurse licensure required.
- Five (5)+ years’ experience in an academic environment providing classroom instruction or specialized tutoring support required.
- Experience managing day-to-day activities in an academic department , including program development and implementation preferred.
- Track record of collaborating, facilitation, and team building.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, planning, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office computer applications.
- Travel to Chamberlain campus sites as required
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $100,171.61 and $181,034.70. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
