What your day-to-day will look like:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer
- Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and finishes
- Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayers
- Operate in both interior and exterior environments as projects and client requirements demand
- Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols
- Provide expert advice on color selection and finish options to clients and team members
- Continuously improving skills and staying updated on new painting techniques and materials
- Maintain current completion status on all required training assigned by JLL and the client
- Update work order statuses in real-time (pending, in progress, completed, on hold)
- Primary responsibility for maintaining the BWI site, with additional support to the Bio Park site as operational needs require.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday with flexible start times
(8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
- Vocational training or certification in painting or related field
- Experience with commercial and industrial painting projects
- Familiarity with green painting practices and low-VOC products
- Basic computer skills for accessing work orders and communication
- Experience with CMMS systems, specifically Blue Mountain RAM is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including work order processing, documentation of completed tasks, and performance reporting to effectively manage painting projects and maintenance requests.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing project needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration
- Carpentry skills are a plus
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a professional painter
- Proficiency in various painting techniques and application methods
- Knowledge of different paint types, finishes, and their appropriate uses
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- General handyman skills to address ad-hoc work as facility requires
- Ability to work at heights and in various environmental conditions
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
