Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Hospice

Location: San Diego, CA (On-site – Central and East San Diego coverage)
Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PST
Compensation: $35.00–$45.00 per hour

A leading provider of home health and hospice care in the western United States is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join their San Diego hospice care team. What You’ll Do

As a Hospice LVN, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients are met. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering skilled nursing care in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act

  • Implementing care plans and responding to changes in patient condition

  • Administering medications and treatments accurately and compassionately

  • Educating patients and families about diagnosis and care procedures

  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate hospice services

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate clinical documentation

  • Monitoring and managing pain and symptoms effectively

  • Following proper infection control and aseptic techniques

  • Participating in professional development and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program

  • Active LVN license in the State of California

  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience (home health or medical/surgical preferred)

  • CPR certification (current)

  • Understanding of the hospice philosophy and sensitivity to end-of-life care

  • Effective communication and organizational skills

  • Valid driver’s license with a reliable, insured vehicle
