The Mammography Technologist performs radiographic mammography procedures which produce high quality diagnostic films for use in the detection of breast tissue abnormalities. This position works on a level not requiring constant supervision and performs a variety of procedures that require independent judgment, creativity, and initiative.

As a Mammography Technologist Lead at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our imaging team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:

  • Leads the work of the technologists and accreditation/certifications in the department. Implements directives related to adjusting staffing levels based on service needs and volumes. Acts as a resource technologist and provides technical support. Performs diagnostic imaging procedures as required. Performs quality mammography and may perform breast ultrasound.
  • Participates and leads improvement initiatives and implementation of new exam procedures. Teaches new and evolving Diagnostic technologies. Coordinates orientation and training of new associates. Ensures staff competency through proper training techniques and conducts quality audits.
  • Participates in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service. Supports and promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that departments ability to meet its goals and objectives. Collaborates with department leadership/navigation teams to coordinate care with other departments and promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • May participate in human resource functions. May participate in the interview process and provides feedback to leadership team on candidates. Provides education/training and performance feedback for associates in the department. Participates in policy and procedure development. Presents and documents staff meetings as required.
  • Monitors supply and equipment inventory. Notifies leadership team of needed equipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance. Participates in leading quality and performance improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited American Registry of Radiologic Technology Program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (M) registry.
  • Health Care Provider Life Support certification is required, Radiologic Technologist state licensure.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a Technologist role in medical imaging setting, including MQSA and FDA audit experience.

PreferredQualifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (BS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Prior experience working with radiology students and healthcare / radiology leadership experience

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$34.06 - $52.55
