Leidos is seeking a high-impact Security Engineer to join the Department of the Air Force CLOUDworks team at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. In this mission-critical role, you’ll shape the future of cloud security, guiding Air and Space Force Intelligence Community (IC) customers through their transition to Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) and Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E). This hybrid position offers the flexibility to telework two days a week while making a direct impact on national security. Candidates must currently position a TS/SCI security clearance.
What You’ll Do:
Architect Security Solutions: Spearhead system security designs and ensure seamless integration of cloud strategies into the Risk Management Framework.
Engage with High-Level Stakeholders: Collaborate directly with Air and Space Force leadership, authorizing officials, and security representatives to ensure compliance and best practices.
Enhance National Security: Oversee all aspects of the Information Assurance (IA) program, developing rigorous Assessment and Authorization (A&A) procedures to fortify defense infrastructure.
Hybrid Work Model: Stay at the forefront of innovation while adapting to mission-driven schedule changes.
Additional Responsibilities:
Prepare high-impact reports and presentations that shape cybersecurity strategies.
Assess and mitigate system security risks across the entire program lifecycle.
Ensure compliance in operations security, forensics, insider threat detection, physical security analysis, and more.
Support secure systems operations, validate security requirements, and lead certification/accreditation processes.
Develop cutting-edge technical security solutions to enhance cloud security.
Your Qualifications:
Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance – a must-have for this role.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience in cybersecurity and cloud security.
DoD 8570 IAT-II certification or higher.
Expertise in enterprise cloud security, encryption, vulnerability assessment, and continuous monitoring.
Strong communication skills to brief executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Ability to work seamlessly in a hybrid schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s/PhD in Computer Science for added expertise.
Industry-leading certifications like CISSP, CISM, or GSLC.
Cloud security credentials from AWS, Microsoft, Google, IBM, or Oracle.
Experience in government cloud environments, including IC ITE GovCloud and C2S.
Prior leadership as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with Risk Management Framework proficiency.

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
