The Team:

Our Flutter Team at eBay is responsible for the creation and continued support of the eBay Motors App, one of the most mature Flutter projects on the market. The team is composed of passionate mobile engineers dedicated to enhancing the user experience for eBay’s Vehicle and Automotive Parts and Accessories categories. We champion a culture of innovation and agility, continuously adopting new technologies to refine our processes and deliver outstanding user experiences. The Role:

The eBay Motors App is a key part of the innovation cycle within eBay’s Motors vertical. We create compelling and tailored experiences for our active user base and serve as the tip of the spear for learnings that influence broader initiatives across Motors and beyond. Our team is uniquely positioned, with a small group of dedicated engineers responsible for the end-to-end user experience, allowing us to focus on all aspects of the user journey. You'll engage directly with product, design, and analytics teams, and have the opportunity to work alongside native developers in an agile workflow to craft exceptional user experiences. What you will accomplish:

  • Help design, develop, and maintain the eBay Motors Flutter Application.

  • Take an active role in not just delivering features, but collaborating to tackle user problems by using Flutter's cross-platform strengths for innovative solutions.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks to estimate engineering efforts, identify risks, and communicate the planning, implementation, and rollout of planned feature work.

  • Actively participate in meaningful code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

What you will bring:

  • At least 2+ years of professional Flutter development experience, along with 4+ years as a professional iOS or Android software developer.

  • Dedication to clean code approaches, testing and automation, continual education, and software development in general.

  • Proven understanding of the Flutter framework, Dart language, and how to design responsive layouts.

  • Proficient with Flutter testing framework.

  • Understanding of Flutter state management approaches.

  • Extensive experience in using a wide range of packages from pub.dev to optimize both user and developer experiences.

  • The ability to work both within a team and across multiple teams, to mentor and develop other team members, and to drive initiatives to completion.

  • Experience taking project features and scoping them into sub-tasks for ease of execution by others and removing potential issues before they become blockers.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$115,200 - $199,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
