Job Summary:
The Director of Market Planning & Analytics will lead the strategic growth and performance optimization of our multi-unit franchise portfolio. This role will be responsible for overseeing market planning, territory development strategies, and performance forecasting across existing and future franchise license territories. This role is critical in aligning data-driven insights with the company’s expansion goals, enhancing unit performance, and maximizing return on investment. The Director of Market Planning & Analytics will report to the Vice President, Franchise Development.
You will
Strategic Development Planning
• Lead the creation and execution of short- and long-term development strategies to support franchise expansion goals.
• Partner with finance and operations teams to identify high-opportunity markets.
• Manage the franchise development pipeline, ensuring new sales/resales are aligned with brand strategy and operational capability.
Market & Site Analytics
• Conduct in-depth market research, trade area analysis, and site feasibility studies to inform territory development.
• Build and maintain location intelligence tools and models to support site selection, cannibalization analysis, and white space identification.
• Develop criteria and scorecards for evaluating potential markets and unit performance.
Franchise Portfolio Performance
• Analyze performance trends across the franchise system and develop insights to support continuous improvement.
• Create dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to monitor new and existing unit performance against projections.
• Collaborate with operations and finance to forecast revenue, unit economics, and franchisee ROI.
Franchisee & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with franchisees and franchise development teams to align planning and analytics with local execution.
• Present findings and growth strategies to internal leadership and potential franchise investors.
• Provide strategic support during franchisee onboarding and expansion planning.
You have
• 10+ years of experience in development planning, strategy, or analytics, preferably within a multi-unit franchise environment.
• Strong understanding of franchise business models, site selection methodology, and market planning.
• Proficiency in tools such as GIS mapping (e.g., Esri), Tableau, SQL, and Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to balance high-level strategy with tactical execution.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Urban Planning, Data Analytics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
