Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required from last 3 months.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
• BSN completion preferred
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a District of Columbia license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

Additional Details:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.
36 hours or 48 hours
Weekend Req: Every other weekend
Float Req: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler
Skills Req: Telemetry, Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, IV, phlebotomy required
Patient Diagnosis: Spinal surgeries: anterior/posterior/lateral fusions, laminectomies, epilepsy monitoring, post-operative craniotomies, NPH workup- lumbar drains, medicine overflow patients
Special Equiptment: lumbar drains, EEG monitoring, surgical drains– JP, Hemovac, Blake drains
Scrubs not provided; any color scrubs

Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
