POSITION SUMMARY: This role serves as administrator of grant-funded, outcomes-based after-school program for elementary, middle or high school youth. Responsible for maintaining the program’s budget, hiring and management of Associates, coordinating partnerships, tracking progress towards outcomes and writing reports. Program is located in a public school or community center and is held during the school year with potential for summer programming. The OST Site Director demonstrates a commitment to the Y in Central Maryland’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Implement and oversee high quality, developmentally appropriate out of school time program that aligns with grant requirements • Hire, develop, appraise, approve time and attendance, and when necessary participate in the performance management process for associates • Develop positive relationship with school leadership while maintaining focus on and meeting job expectations • Monitor staff hours and program spending to meet grant budget • Provide data and narrative reports to meet weekly, monthly and quarterly grant reporting requirements • Seek, develop and maintain relationships with partners that grow and sustain the program • Attend and contribute to meetings and hold effective staff meetings • Develop marketing materials and create a social media presence on behalf of the school and program

Education • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services or related discipline Experience • Experience managing outcomes-based, grant-funded youth programs • Familiarity and experience working with target population • Knowledge of stages of youth development; familiarity with Developmental Assets preferred • Knowledge of youth program quality standards, measures and instruments • Experience working at an off-site location or in a public school building • Developing budgets and managing expenses • Experience managing a team • Knowledge of budget development and expense management Skills • Ability to administer outcomes-based youth programming, including planning, staffing, budgeting and maintaining accurate records • Problem solving required in identifying issues and creating action plans • Ability to develop effective partnerships that enhance after-school programming • Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities • Commitment to professional development and staff training with potential to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite platform and Social Media platforms; use of on-line reporting systems for data entry • Capacity to develop effective working relationships with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgrounds

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically able to successfully complete required job functions, including use of hands, arms, fingers, able to talk and hear, use a computer, sit and stand, regularly move/lift up to 50 pounds, enter all Y environments (office spaces, indoor and outdoor maintenance/mechanical areas, fitness areas, pool and pool space, camping areas, unimproved outdoor locations and other program areas). Physically able to observe, inspect, and identify appropriate documentation from all visitors to the program Physically able to recognize and assess individuals and groups in program space.
