The Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit (CVSD) at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital is an 18-bed intermediate care unit that delivers specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular procedures or managing complex cardiac conditions. Positioned between the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and general medical-surgical floors, the CVSD provides advanced monitoring, continuous assessment, and evidence-based interventions to support patients on their path to recovery.
