About the role:
As an Accounts Payable Clerk you will be responsible
for the accurate processing and payment of invoices submitted on a daily basis
from suppliers and internal employees. This is performed in our accounts
payable workflow within our ERP system. This position will assist with
monitoring daily emails, performing weekly reports and monthly projects centred
around the payables process.
As part of the Finance
team, you will be responsible for
- Manage
payments to vendors and employees and controls expenses by receiving,
processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices for multiple company
entities
- Communicate
daily with vendors and internal employees to resolve purchase order,
contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
- Reconcile
processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to
balances
- Assist
in verifying expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies
and accurately coding expenses
- Perform
invoice and general ledger data entry ensuring proper documentation of all
transactions
- Compiles
weekly vendor aging reports and payment journals
- Strengthen
and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments
- Identify
discrepancies by reconciling vendor statements and accounts
- Protect
organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Support
the company in optimizing its financial transactions and systems
- Accomplish
accounting and organization mission by completing related projects as
needed
- Assist
with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Quarterly,
Half-year and Year End projects as assigned; GRNI reconciliation,
statement reconciliation
- Other
administrative duties as assigned
Who we’re looking for:
To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role in a growing, fast paced organization
- Associates degree required, Bachelor’s preferred or the appropriate combination of education and experience
- Attentiveness to detail and thoroughness
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Accounting experience and strong math skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in data entry
- Location will be a hybrid approach, with expectation to work out of the Monroe, LA office as requested by Accounts Payable Supervisor or Director of Finance
- No travel required
