Occupational Therapist - School Setting
Join our team as a dedicated Occupational Therapist, where you will provide therapy services to students in a school setting. In this role, you will help children develop skills needed for academic success, independence, and participation in daily school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students referred for occupational therapy services in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-regulation.
- Create individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students' specific needs and goals related to academic functioning.
- Provide direct therapy services to improve motor skills, coordination, postural stability, and classroom tool use.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to adapt learning environments and recommend assistive devices or strategies for success.
- Document student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and provide training for school staff on interventions and accommodations.
Work Environment:
- The role is based in schools where occupational therapists work with children from preschool through high school age.
